Simply put, Dawnmarie was stuck—after once receiving the advice to never charge more than $150/hour, she was stuck in a rut labeled “Who do I think I am to charge that much?” resulting in an overwhelmingly unstable financial situation as a fledgling coach.
“I knew the value of my services for people’s lives,” she said. “BUT I wasn’t connecting that with a financial value. Meanwhile, I couldn’t afford my life. I imagine that without Jen, I still wouldn’t know how I was going to pay my rent.”
After watching Jen skyrocket her career (and asking herself “WTF?!”) she hired her to help do the same for her own hypnotherapy and mindset coaching business. Jennifer helped Dawnmarie reframe her thinking around her pricing & sales strategies, it changed her business. She says three learnings were critical: 1. Ask for what you’re worth, 2. Be willing to invest in yourself the same way you’re asking your clients to invest in themselves, and 3. Don’t take no for an answer.
Through her work with Jen, Dawnmarie says she learned the concept of high-value work.
“It turns out that people will pay thousands of dollars beyond what I think they’re willing to pay,” she said. “It comes down to asking them to pay me what I’m worth so they can invest in themselves.”
